War In Iraq
_______________________________________________________________
My biggest qualm with the War in Iraq is the futileness of it. First we want to capture the bogeymen responsible for 9/11. Next there are WMD, and then we want to stop insurgents from killing civilians, now we want to establish Democracy. The "why" keeps changing in a war with undefined goals and minimal result. Why is it SO important that Democracy reign in Iraq....Iran, Syria and every other nation in the Middle East is tribunal, dictators, monarchs- all OVER the world in fact, democracy is little more than capitalist ideology... how are we suppose to change any regime when we ourselves are a divided Republic.
What RIGHT do we have to change the ideology that has existed for thousands of years? If it is truly for want to make the world a "better place" we would be in Ethiopia and other African nations, in poor Asian and European areas. Down in Central America and Mexico- truly making change for humanitarian reasons. But there is no wealth there, no monetary or political gain to be won. Genocide, disease, hunger kill millions a day, yet we are "reaching out to Iraqis from their own welfare" even though Middle Easterners are the LEAST likely to ever want American interference. I respect and stand by my President as much as I can, I do not want another 9/11...but fear tactics in an ill conceived war are not the way to keep our nation safe. I would rather see those troops scouring the subways and borders; use intelligence that’s trying to find a cave that may or may not contain Osama- instead looking at financial records, patterns, people entering US, and watching us HERE not from abroad. We do need a strong military, but we need it protecting us, intelling us, showing our strength in front of US, not weak and foolhardy abroad. The followers of liberal leaders, screaming in protest without any idea in their head other than the person currently babbling on their soapbox of nothing real, simply utopian, impractical ideas- fuck you. To the blindly following conservative that thinks people are too stupid to see hidden agendas and preach patriotism over reality- fuck you. Politicians do NOT represent Americans; they haven't for a long time. Out with career politicians, out with PACs, and out with the money of politics, out with centralized Bureaucracy, its time to return to the Government BY the people and FOR the people. State Rights over Federal Rights, and this centralized government power must be questioned. Thomas Jefferson was a brilliant man and I will leave you with a few quotes:
An honest man can feel no pleasure in the exercise of power over his fellow citizens.
We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of day.
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive.
